FAQ
The first of what we hope will be many more to come.
What is the attire?
This is a Black Tie preferred event. Modest Formal Attire is required. See attached Pinterest Board for ideas and affiliate links.
What does black tie preferred mean?
Black Tie refers to the tie men wear with tuxedos which indicates the level of formality of the event. Black Tie signifies a formal event but not one as formal as a White-Tie event, like the Royal Ball. Tuxedos are encouraged but NOT required, a suit and tie can be substituted. The tie does not have to be black.
What about the attire for ladies?
This is a formal event so we kindly ask that ladies come in modest floor-length formal wear. You are daughters of a Heavenly King! Feel free to add opera gloves but please save the ball gowns and tiaras for the Royal Ball.
How is seating being arranged?
This formal does not have a sit down dinner like the Royal Ball, so there are no assigned seats. There will be some tables for people to sit at as well as several high tops available throughout the room.
What about food?
Hors d’oeuvres and dessert tables will be provided with gluten free, dairy free, as well as gluten & dairy free options.
What about drinks?
This event will have a cash bar. Beginning in 2026 S’ue B Plaît , a master mixologist, will be curating the cocktails and providing bartending services for all our formal events. Please be sure to bring cash to tip the bartenders as they rely heavily on tips for their living.
Why isn’t there an open bar like there was for the Royal Ball?
In an effort to have an affordable elegant evening we needed to cut the open bar as that is an expensive feature. The Royal Ball will however have an open bar.
Do I need to register and purchase a ticket?
A pre-purchased ticket is required in order to ensure we have enough food for all participants.
Why isn’t there an option for a couple’s ticket?
Formal events like this and the Royal Ball have an incredible amount of overhead expense. We wanted to make the event accessible to all and still cover all our overhead costs; in order to achieve that goal we opted to make all tickets as low as possible so we aren’t able to offer a discounted couple’s ticket on top of the already affordable individual ticket for this event.
Will tickets be available at the door?
Tickets will not be sold at the door as a pre-purchased ticket is required.
Is this event open to all ages?
This is an adult event that is open to mature teens aged 15-17 who are accompanied by one or both of their parents. Teens must be 15 by May 24th in order to attend. This event is not suitable for young children or younger teens. Nursing babies under 6 months of age are welcome.
I’d like to know if I know anyone who will be at the Ball, can you tell me who will be attending?
We do not have a public guest list. We encourage people to personally invite their family and friends.
Why do the doors lock and will I be able to get in if I’m late?
Doors will be closed and locked at 6pm, but if you are arriving late you can still get in, please just call or text Mrs. Garcia. There are several banquet halls in the area so doors lock after the event begins so we don’t have to have someone posted at the door as our family and corps members all pay to attend the event as well.
What are people saying about the Epiphany Ball?
As this is our first Epiphany Ball we do not have any reviews yet, that said you can read the reviews of the Royal Ball and Spring Formal to get an idea of what to expect.
“I’m very thankful I was invited to the One Dance at a time Spring Formal. I’ve never attended an event like this before and was very nervous. After the first little bit, I definitely mellowed out a bit and had a lot of fun!” ~Zachary
“The Spring Formal Dance was a wonderful event! It was a perfect opportunity to meet new people and reconnect with old friends. As a novice dancer, I especially appreciated the instruction throughout the night in so many different dance styles and then putting those learnings into practice while being able to ask for help from one of the many talented Dance Corps volunteers. It was so much fun to dance the Virginia Reel with a great community of fellow Catholics!” ~Greg
“Musica Vitae has had the pleasure of experiencing One Dance at a Time through several of their events, most recently their Spring Formal. The evening was marked by elegance, joy, and a remarkable sense of community. From the very first instruction, it was clear that their approach is thoughtful and accessible to beginners, who were guided through each step and able to participate with confidence. The evening offered a variety of dances, moving seamlessly from foundational steps to lively contra dances, creating an atmosphere that was both refined and welcoming. When we first learned about One Dance at a Time, we quickly discovered that their mission closely aligns with our own—to renew culture through beauty, art, and shared human experience. We are honored to partner with One Dance at a Time for the upcoming Music of Life Summer Ball in Indianapolis, and we look forward to continued collaboration, including their Royal Ball this October. Together, we are excited to bring an experience of elegance, joy, and cultural renewal to our community”. ~ Musica Vitae
